What is Narcolepsy?

Narcolepsy is a medical term for a CNS disorder called excessive sleepiness and irregular sleep-wake pattern. The disorder is most strongly characterised by periods of excessive and extreme sleepiness during the day.

What are the Causes of Narcolepsy?

This condition is known to be caused by a lack of the brain chemical hypocretin (also known as orexin), which regulates sleep.
